Can I enter more than one fishing photo in the contest?
You are free to enter as many fishing photos as you would like. However, there is a limit of one entry per person or per email address.
Can I enter a photo showing multiple people fishing? Can the person be a child?
Yes, you are welcome to enter a photo that shows multiple people fishing. Pictures that include children are also acceptable. Please be aware, however, that the image will be viewable on a publicly accessible website as part of this photo contest. You will also be required to sign a release, and to obtain signed releases from all human subjects in the photograph.
Can I enter a photo that depicts a deceased person in the contest?
We are so sorry to hear about the loss and hope that your grief will soon be replaced by happy memories. Entering a photo that depicts a deceased friend or loved one is absolutely fine, and in fact we encourage you to enter such a photo into the contest. It would be a wonderful tribute.
Do I have to be the owner of the photo I want to enter?
Yes. You must be the owner of the submitted image, and you will be required to obtain a signed release for the other individuals shown in your photo.
Can I enter the contest through the mail, or by emailing you a photograph?
We're very sorry, but the only way to enter the photo contest is through the five-step process at http://orvis.com/fishphoto.
If you do not have any digital images of your fishing photo you can use a scan of a printed photo (saved as a "jpeg") to upload when entering the contest. The reason for this is that Orvis does not have the staffing available to scan images and upload them to the website or enter emailed images into the Contest. If you have a printed photograph and do not have a scanner or computer, we hope you will be able to find a friend or neighbor who can help you enter the contest.
When is the last chance to enter the contest?
You may enter the contest up until 11:59:59 p.m. ET on November 30, 2010. How old do I have to be to enter/participate in the contest?
The Orvis Fly Fishing Photo Contest is open and offered only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia and legal residents of the United Kingdom who have reached the age of majority in the state of his/her residence as of start date of Promotion.

I can't find my entry
To see if your entry uploaded to the contest website, you'll need to login to view it. Login using the registration information that was sent to you (check your e-mail service's spam filter if you did not receive an email message with your user ID and password). After logging in, click on "Manage Entries" to see if you have an entry already. If you do not, click on "Enter Contest" to enter the contest. You can re-enter the contest from this page. If you do have an entry on the site, you will be able to see your finished entry on this page.If you submitted an ineligible fishing photo, that photo was removed from the contest and you should have been notified by email. Any votes your photo received before being removed from the contest will be credited back to the appropriate account of the voter - including your own if you donated to your photo. If you do not want to re-enter the contest or use your votes towards a different photo, please fill out a request form here for refund information.
How many photos can I enter in the contest?
You may enter one (1) photo only.
What is my email address used for?
Email addresses entered by contest participants will be used only for communications related to the contest. Email addresses entered by voters will not be used or retained for any purpose. Both contest participants and voters can opt-in, separately, to receive fish tips, action alerts, and special offers via email from Orvis. If they choose to do so, they will be able to quickly and easily "opt out" of future such communications by following the instructions on any electronic communication we send. Orvis and its affiliates do not sell, rent, trade, or share its email addresses with any third parties.
I discovered a typo in my written description. Can I edit it?
You may edit your entry's name or your write-up by logging in to your account.
To edit your entry's name or write-up, go to the Login Page and login using the registration information that was sent to you (check your email service's spam filter if you did not receive an email message with your user ID and password). After logging in, click on "Manage Entries" to see your finished entry. On this page, click the "Edit Entry" button next to your entry. This will take you to a page where you can edit your text. Be sure to hit the "Save changes" button after you put in your revised text. See below instructions on re-entering the contest.
How can I re-enter the contest?
If your photo was removed from the contest you may login with you User ID and password (sent to you via email) and upload a new photo to re-enter the contest.
You may edit the text of your current entry at any time by logging in to your account - but once you submit your entry you will not be able to change your photo.
Can I upload a different photo?
You may not upload a different photo once you have entered the contest. Before you submit your final photo you will have the opportunity to view your entry.
Can I delete my entry?
You may not delete your entry after you have entered the contest.
You may, however, login to your account at any time and edit your responses to the questions.
How can someone find my fishing photo on The Orvis Fly Fishing Photo Contest website?
From the home page of the contest site, go to the
Search Photos
page. Choose a field to search by from the drop-down, or search all fields by just typing in the box and clicking "Submit." If you are searching for an entry with two names in the title, it usually works best only use one when searching.
How can I vote for a fishing photo?
If you choose, your fishing photo can also compete with other photos for votes in the Fundraisers category. Forward your fishing photo page to your friends and family, and then ask them to donate to vote for your photo! Every vote for your photo is another dollar that will help will help fund preservation of American Rivers. For every dollar you donate to American Rivers, you will receive one vote that you may use however you please. There is a minimum donation of $5, or 5 votes All of the money donated will be sent direct to American Rivers.

You do not have to use all of your votes at the time of donation (unless you are voting during the entry process, see note below). When you donate you will be given the option of applying all of your votes to one image or storing your votes in your account. If you choose to store your votes you can log in to your account at any time using your User ID and password to use them -- divided across any number of photo entries. You can view your bank of unused votes at any time by logging in to your account.
Please note that when you donate to vote during the contest entry process, Step 4, all of the votes will be applied to the photo you are currently entering.
Do I have to pay to enter the contest?

Are my donations tax deductible?
Yes, contributions are tax-deductible for U.S. residents to the extent permitted by law. After the Contest ends, American Rivers will designate the funds in the form of grants to the appropriate research foundations — with 100% of your donation going directly to fund preservation of American's fisheries.
Can I vote for more than one photo? How many times can I vote?
You can donate to vote for as many fishing photos as you'd like! When you donate to vote, your total vote count may be delegated however you please among photo entries - including your own entry if you have one.
How do I win the contest?
Your fish will be instantly entered in the Judged category. Our panel of judges will pick the winner of The Orvis Fly Fishing Photo Contest. If you choose, your fish can also compete with other fishing photos in the Fundraisers category. Forward your fishing photo page to your friends and family, and then ask them to
donate to vote for your photo.
What do I win if I win the Judged Category? How do I win the Judged Category?
Our panel of judges will pick a Grand Prize winner based on their favorite photos
and accompanying responses. The Grand prize winner will have their winning fish
photo featured on the cover of a future Orvis Fly Fishing catalog, Fall 2011
edition, as well as receive a $1000 Orvis Gift Card or a Helios fly fishing outfit.

How will my donation show up on my bank or credit card statement? Why does my bank or credit card statement say "American Rivers"?
Donations to the American Rivers (including when you donate to vote for a fishing photo in the contest) will appear on your credit card or bank statement as "American Rivers." If you see a $1 debit on your account, that is not a charge to your card. It is our payment system attempting to validate your card. That $1 debit will disappear within 24-48 hours and will not actually pull money from your account.
How do I apply votes from my vote bank?
To apply votes to entries after you have banked votes, follow these steps:
- Click here to enter your username and password to login
- After logging in, click "Manage/share entries"
- Then click "View Entry"
- On the top right of the donation form you will see a drop-down menu of your votes available. Pick how many votes you would like to apply and click "Apply votes"
- IMPORTANT: You do not need to reenter your credit card information on the form unless you want to donate for more votes.
- Look for an email in your inbox.
How will I know who won? When will I know who won?
You can check the

Fishing Photos"
page to see which photo has received the most votes. These votes will not be
considered by judges in selecting winners for publication and cash prizes, but
we will give a special spot on the website for the picture that wins the “popular
vote.” Up to five (5) winning photographs will be selected for publication and
cash prizes from among all eligible entries by a panel of judges selected by
Orvis. The decisions of the judges are final and binding in all matters relating
to judging this Promotion. Orvis will notify winner by email on or about February
